Week 3: West Coast Swing!

Partner: Jonathan
Genre: West Coast Swing
Choreographer: Benji Schwimmer
Song: Clocks - Vitamin String Quartet

Kloe Schultz is back and in the Top 18 for Week 3, where she and Jonathan danced the West Coast Swing to  an orchestrated version of the Coldplay song 'Clocks'. The number was choreographed by former SYTYCD winner Benji Schwimmer, and his dance told a story about two lovers who can only be together while they are asleep. Though they began low-key in a dream-like state, the energy quickly picked up and we saw the duo performing double somersault flips and one hand catches!

I, for one, really enjoyed the routine. I thought Kloé danced flawlessly and was very graceful in her movements. I did notice that her ankle was taped up during the rehearsal footage, as well as during the performance. But other than the bandages, you'd never know her ankle was bothering her!

On the judges front, Melissa loved the choreography, but wanted to see more connection between Kloé and her partner. Personally, I didn't have any problem with that aspect of their dance at all. She also noted, however, that it was one of the most difficult pieces in the show and how clean their performance was. Tre called their number "entertaining" and gave them a "good job" for their efforts. Jean Marc thought that while it may not have been their best performance, they "did a great job... overall."

Here's hoping Canada connected with their performance and throws a lot of votes their way. I sure put in my share!

A little West Coast Swing
Wonderful!
Great job!
