Fans at the taping show their support

I'm no good at public speaking. Any situation where I have to get up in front of a group of people all staring at me is one of my least favorite things. So I figure it must be pretty nerve-wracking for all the SYTYCD contestants to get up there on that stage in front of a live audience to perform, never mind the tens of thousands watching at home!

It must be nice for Kloé to look out at the sea of people and see signs made in her support. Hopefully it makes dancing her routines just a little bit easier!

Here are a few I've spotted:

Kloé talks bronzer in Week 2 intro segment

Before this week's Jazz routine, Kloé was asked what she absolutely cannot live without. Now, we already know three things she couldn't live without: Hairspray, a comb and bronzer blush... but which one did she choose as her #1?

"I cannot live without my bronzer. My nickname is actually 'Orangina' because I like to apply excessive amounts of bronzer"

So we learned a little more about Kloé last night, most interestingly that people call her 'Orangina' (pronounced 'orange-eena') :)

Week 2: Kloé dances Jazz!

Partner: Jonathan
Genre: Jazz
Choreographer: Blake McGrath
Song: California Gurls - Katy Perry

It's Week 2 and the Top 20 dancers are back for another round of performances. This week Kloe Schultz and her partner Jonathan picked a rather favorable style out of the hat - JAZZ! This was a great choice for the pair, considering Kloé's primary style is Lyrical-Jazz and Jonathan's is contemporary. After doing a formidable job tackling Hip Hop last week, how would Kloé fare in her own genre?

Three words: She brought it!!

Kloé totally shone dancing to Katy Perry's summertime hit California Gurls, bringing the high energy and fun attitude that such a song requires. Looking fantastic in her bikini top and daisy dukes, Kloé was a California girl up there on the stage! I loved it from start to finish, and I'll be up late voting tonight!

When it came time for feedback from the judges, they liked what they saw again this week (for the most part), calling Kloé the perfect California girl, saying she was hot and had style!

Go Kloé!!! She definitely deserves the votes tonight! Let's hope the TV audience liked what they saw as much as I did!

She's undeniable!
Fine, fresh, fierce!
She's got it on lock!

Candid shots from Week 1

Week 1 is over and Kloé is moving on to Week 2, set to kick off Monday, August 30.  I'm sure it's been quite a ride for her so far - what with learning the choreography for her first ever couple's dance on national television, as well as rehearsing and performing in her first group routine.

I was happy to see her excel in her first dance, and overjoyed when we learned that she escaped the bottom 3! I think that must have been a huge relief when she heard the results.

With Week 2 looming, Kloé is no doubt learning the choreography for her next dance number as I write this. Let`s hope she gets a genre she feels comfortable with and a routine that connects with the audience. She needs those votes! No matter how good you dance, it always helps to get an engaging number with exciting choreography.

For now, check out some candid shots from her first week...

Week 1 Results: Kloé is SAFE!

The first round of results are in and Kloé is.... SAFE!!! This is great news for all of Kloé's fans who voted for her last night. I know my fingers were sore when I was done! I'm looking forward to next week's show already... but in the meantime here are some pics from the Week 1 results show:

Week 1: Kloé dances Hip Hop!

Partner: Jonathan
Genre: Hip Hop
Choreographer: Sho-Tyme
Song: X Gon' Give It to Ya - DMX

Week 1 of the finals kicked off for Kloe Schultz by being paired up with Jonathan to dance a hip hop number choreographed by Sho-Tyme. Kloé hit it hard during the routine, earning generally favorable praise from all 5 judges. Having a bit of hip hop training in her background probably helped her feel a little more comfortable in the genre. Hopefully having touched on a few different styles over the years will help her out in the weeks to come.

Considering this was her very first dance on the show, I'd say she fared extremely well!

Check out Kloé's bio

Kloé's bio has been posted on ctv.ca:

Hailing from North Bay, Ontario, Kloe Schultz was shocked to find out an extra two dancers would be added to this season’s Top 20. “I’m surprised by the fact that we have Top 22 dancers and I’m part of it.” Kloé is elated to be amongst an elite group of dancers and knows her hard work in auditions for the past three seasons has finally paid off. “I think one thing that makes this season different than the rest is my confidence level.” Kloé is ready to bring that same self-assurance to the SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA stage, and will keep pushing herself harder to shine.

Having trained in ballet, jazz, hip-hop, theatre, and tap, the 20-year-old says she is strongest at lyrical-jazz. Just having started to navigate her way in the professional scene, Kloé has already had a fair run at the dance competition circuit, participating at Terpsichore, Rhythm Dance and CanDance.

Her competitive background has brought her across Canada and the United States and she is proud of her accomplishments regardless of everything not always coming naturally. “As a dancer for the past 16 years, I have struggled with technique, but have always worked extra hard. I have never been the best dancer, or the one who wins all of the awards, but I always persevered.”

Kloé has a bit of a sporty side as well. “I play soccer and have been to OFSAA for 400m hurdles and 4x100 relay.” Kloé has always been able to manage a very full schedule including dance, sports and school. She credits her multitasking abilities as one of her greatest accomplishments adding, “as a student I have also been involved in leadership roles within the faculty and the university.”

Kloé says her hard work is what got her here, but also believes that her ritual of chewing a piece of gum and throwing it out right before she goes on stage helps with her performance.

Fearing contemporary and ballroom the most, Kloé cannot wait to show Canada what she has to offer. Being a huge fan of the show, she is thrilled at the prospect of working with some of the best choreographers such as, “Mia Michaels or Tabitha and Napoleon. I really admire their creativity and their ability to bring out a dancer’s emotions and expression through dance.”

Kloé is in the Top 22!!!

This blog is to celebrate talented dancer Kloé Schultz, who is a Top 22 contestant on So You Think You Can Dance Canada - Season 3!

After auditioning for seasons 1 and 2 - and cracking the Top 40 each time - Kloé has finally moved to the next level, where she will perform each week with a partner on the show until she either doesn't earn enough fan votes to stay, or wins the competition to become Canada's Favorite Dancer.

Even if she manages to make it to the Top 10, she'll still participate in the show's National tour later in the year.

Here's hoping for a long run!
