Week 4 Results: Top 14, here we come!

I don't know why, but I was extra nervous that Kloe would end up in the bottom 3 this week. There are only 7 couples left, and out of all the performances I thought Kloe and Jonathan received some of the worst feedback from the judges. Luckily my fears were unfounded and their fans pulled through. Kloe and Jonathan escaped the bottom 3 for the fourth week in a row!

This week's group routine was a Broadway number arranged by Sergio Trujillo, choreographer of “Jersey Boys” and “Memphis”. The up-tempo dance was set in a speakeasy club and included lots of swing dancing and old-school hip-hop.

At the end of the night, Jesse and Kirsten bid farewell to the SYTYCD Canada stage. Next week Kloé will be back with another routine in the Top 14! The show will air on a new day - Wednesday at 8:00pm.

Your Top 14!

More Kloe fans!

It's always good to see fans come out to the show and support Kloe with their signs and cheers! Here are a few fans that were spotted during Week 4.

Week 4: Kloe dances New Disco

Partner: Jonathan
Genre: New Disco
Choreographer: Melissa Williams
Song: If I Had You - Adam Lambert

We're into Week 4 now and Kloé is in the Top 16! That's the good news. The not-so-good-news is that she and Jonathan were chosen to dance yet another obscure genre this week: New Disco. This particular genre is so new and obscure that even the judges have admitted to not really understanding it. Choreographing the pair this week was Melissa Williams, and they danced to the Adam Lambert hit "If I Had You".

I liked this up-tempo number that saw the duo donning sexy black outfits and performing some pretty cool moves - one of which saw Kloé twirled down to the ground and pulled across the floor by her partner. Some really great stuff was in there; even a lift or two for good measure! How it will connect with the viewers, however, is yet to be seen. The pair haven't ended up in the bottom 3 yet, but as the contestants dwindle down, they're more and more likely to end up there. I do think that viewers who have previously voted for Kloé and Jonathan won't be disappointed in their performance!

When it came to the judging there were mixed results again this week, and I could tell that none of the judges really loved what they saw. Stacey Tookey started off with some confusing remarks, saying "Wow, ok, um... you guys just really performed that." I'm not quite sure what 'really performed' means, but it definitely wasn't glowing praise. She did go on to note that they were really into the character of the piece. Directing comments at Kloé, Stacey told her she really embodied the choreography but wanted her to fill it out a little more.

The other judges seemed to want more of a connection between the duo, but I saw no problem with that. From the first week I've thought that Kloé and Jonathan have had good chemistry on the dance floor. I hope they get enough votes tonight to move on to the Top 14.
